Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base Equips Every Briefing Room With SMART Board™ Interactive Whiteboards

Calgary, AB --- December 1, 2003 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the recent installation of SMART Board interactive whiteboards at the Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base in northern Utah. With this installation by SMART reseller Uinta Business Systems, every briefing room at the Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base is now equipped with front- and rear-projection SMART Board interactive whiteboards.
Until a year ago, the squadrons of the Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base used video players for most briefings and debriefings. Vital information required for the sessions was obtained by telephone. Over the past year, state-of-the-art technology has been installed in every briefing room of the Fighter Wing at the base. Pilots and commanders now use SMART Board interactive whiteboards to annotate over recordings from combat sorties and moving video by picking up a pen from the SMART Pen Tray. Using a finger on the touch-sensitive screen, they bring up maps to illustrate mission routes and targets, and access the Internet to obtain real-time information such as wind speed and cloud cover.
